Baby Boy or Baby Girl Quilt- Jelly Roll Style with Flannel Back
If you don't know what a Jelly Roll is, it is a roll of 2.5 inch strips of various patterned fabrics. I stitched the Jelly Rolls together and washed them. I also pre-washed the flannel fabric for the quilts and the fabric I wanted to use as a binder to prevent shrinkage later on.
I machine stitched the front of the binding on then hand stitched the back binding on to hide the stitching. The final step was to tie the quilt with DMC Floss. This process of adding the binding by hand and tying the quilt takes approximately 3 hours.
This quilt has a variety of beautiful patterned fabrics in pink, red, white, green, and teal. It has an abstract teal, green, and golden flannel back and is bound with a two tone teal fabric. It is tied with a dark teal DMC floss color.
My Jelly Roll Quilts are about 29" wide and 42" tall. They vary slightly in size as they are all handmade.
