This unique stole would be perfect for the Advent/Christmas Season. It would make a fantastic gift for a clergy at Christmas. Not only can this stole be used for clergy, but for Deacons as well. There are special clips that can be purchased so the stoles can be turned and clipped at the hip, or a chain can be added at hip height.
This mostly cotton stole has a wonderful design of poinsettia's on a Batik fabric. I found a short remnant of Batik fabric that I knew would make a stunning stole, but it was too short. So I decided to use my quilting skills and piece it with coordinating cotton fabrics. It is backed with a deep purple fabric. The inside lining is Duck cloth that should help it keep a beautiful shape over the years. Each neck has a hand stitched cross on it.
The method I used is the set-back stole method, however, on this one I reversed it to give a purple edging to the fabrics. Each stole is machine stitched and more than 50% hand stitched. Each stole takes a minimum of 6-8 hours to complete depending on the details included in it.
